AMA (WA) in the Media

At the AMA (WA), we take pride in being a strong voice for doctors, patients, and the healthcare system as a whole. Over the past two months, the AMA (WA) has been in the media, speaking up on relevant issues like the ongoing ambulance ramping crisis. Here’s a look at some of our most significant media appearances.

HIGHLIGHTS

ABC PERTH

Continued ramping crisis

AMA (WA) President Dr Kyle Hoath spoke to ABC Perth about being trapped in a cycle of ramping and crisis, rather than trying to prevent the problem from getting bigger. The State Government needs to urgently find solutions to our ongoing issues, otherwise we’re headed towards disaster.

6PR Breakfast

WA public hospitals
postponing surgeries

Dr Hoath spoke to 6PR Breakfast about the decision to postpone category 2 and 3 surgeries in WA’s public hospitals – another symptom of a health system in crisis.

Unacceptable conditions in
public hospitals

Dr Hoath spoke to 6PR Perth about leaked reports of the appalling state of our public hospitals right now, from a lack of beds to unacceptable conditions, including visible mould and concerns over leaking radioactive waste. Dr Hoath said people will die if this becomes the new normal.
